Hardware Service & Repair

Audio Precision currently offers adjustment, repair and calibration services at our factory in Beaverton, Oregon USA and the European Service Center for all equipment we manufacture. Additionally, many of our international distributors also offer adjustment and repair service for equipment sold in their regions.

Go to the Forms tab and select either the on-line form or the downloadable PDF, which you can print and fax or email. You can also telephone or email us and we can send you a Service Request form. Warranty repairs are available only in the country where the instrument was purchased, or from the Audio Precision factory. Non-warranty repairs are available from any factory-authorized international distributor or from the Audio Precision factory. Please review our special guidelines for returning products from outside the U.S. before shipping items to the Audio Precision factory.

Factory Adjustment

Adjustment is the process of restoring optimum instrument performance by resetting internal electrical components and stored software constants to correct for the inevitable effects of aging and drift. Adjustment does not imply Calibration.

Each instrument that arrives at Audio Precision for a Factory Adjustment is first given an "As Received" performance test. The instrument is then adjusted and tested to meet Audio Precision’s rigorous internal requirements. After adjustment, the instrument is given an "As Returned" performance test, and must pass all items with no failures. The adjusted instrument is returned to the customer with a printed "As Received" performance test report, an "As Returned" performance test report and a Certificate of Traceability. For Factory Adjustment service, an instrument is typically return shipped within two weeks of its arrival at the factory.

Accredited Calibration is the process of comparing instrument performance to nationally administered standards or fundamental units of nature. Calibration results in a document containing a "Certificate of Calibration" (if the unit passes) and a performance report containing test data and other relevant information. Calibration does not necessarily require Adjustment.

The tested instrument is returned to the customer with a printed "As Received" performance test report and a Certificate of Traceability. For Factory Test service, an instrument is typically return shipped within two weeks of its arrival at the factory.
