AUDIO PRECISION ADDS NEW FEATURES TO APX MULTICHANNEL AUDIO ANALYZER
New software version includes Dolby / DTS Confidence testing, ability to measure playback-only devices and improved API support

Beaverton, OR - Nov 20, 2006 - Audio Precision, Inc., the worldwide leader in audio test and measurement, today announced the availability of version 1.1 of its award-winning APx500 audio analyzer software. The software powers the APx585 audio analyzer, the first true multichannel audio analyzer in the world.

Dolby / DTS Confidence Testing
Version 1.1 includes automated Dolby and DTS confidence testers. These tools closely follow the process outlined in the Dolby / DTS certifications manuals for the key 5.1 tests providing customers with a fast and easy solution to establish confidence that their product will pass the Dolby /DTS certification process.

Support for measuring playback-only devices
APx500 v1.1 now includes support for playback-only devices such as CD/DVD/MP3 players by allowing the measurement of test signals played back on the device under test. All standard measurements, including frequency sweeps up to 61 points, can be taken and the APx's innovative Measurement Sequencer can be employed to automated any series of measurements.

Improved API Support
The APx programming interface leverages the latest Microsoft.NET technologies, allowing users to automate the APx system in their choice of programming language. Version 1.1 provides IntelliSense online help documentation and Visual Basic.NET examples. More than 80 Objects, including over 500 functions are provided, supporting programming tasks such as loading and running projects, or selecting and running specific measurements and returning their results.

APx500 Version 1.1 ships standard with all new APx585 orders and is available as a free download for current APx585 owners. The software also runs in “Demo Mode” for prospective customers who do not have the APx hardware but would like to review the software's feature set.
