Error 9004: "Unable to establish USB/APSI connection"

Question:

When I start the AP2700 software I get error message 9004, "Config Error: Unable to establish USB/APSI connection...". When I click OK the error goes away, and everything seems to work properly. What does this mean?

Answer:

Error 9004 indicates the connected 2700 series analyzer has the Dolby Digital (AC3) generator option (OPT-2711) installed, but there is no USB 2.0 connection from the host PC to the 2700 rear panel. If you want to use the Dolby Digital generator, you must connect the USB cable and restart the software. If you don’t need it, click OK and continue working. All other features and functions will work properly.
